Boy, I just can't seem to get one up on life

Everything is going dandy, and smoothly like you wouldn't believe.
I'm doing laundry right now, and packing up eveyrthing but the necessary essentials for the next two days. I've got a photoshoot tomorrow, as well as a Thanksgiving dinner and a going away party. Thursday I'm picking up the truck at 6 am in the morning and I'll be loading it up for most of the day. Later that night I'm having a familly get together, followed by a HUGE going away party. It's going to be so fun yet so heartbreaking at the same time. I love my friends, sure they drive me nuts but they mean well.
Well last night was a great night. I bought Lightroom 2 and it's AMAZING!!! I seriously love it. I already see an improvement in my post processing skills and file management. Awesome part? My parents are buying me the Creative MASTER SUITE. Yes. That is EVERYTHING Adobe has to offer. its about $2,500 and I was like  They wouldn't buy me any equipment, said I'd value it more if I work hard and earn it myself but that software is an integral part of photography and that it often takes more time to learn that than the actual photography skills needed!!! So they bought me that and the PDF download of the CS4 bible and Lightroom 2 for dummies
I've got an even bigger workload now between my photoshoots, my actual class work (which is about 3 to 4 hours a day) not to mention learning my software which everyone knows absorbs alot of time without you realizing it

and moving, and unpacking I'm like WOWWWWWWWWWWWW. Where am I going to find the time to have a life? I have a couple of Christmas parties Seth and I were invited to, as well as we're going to host our own, and I have a baby shower to plan for Sarah and just AGH! I'm excited! No more sitting around waiting for stuff to happen to me. I have four mentors right now for photography and it's been AMAZING. Daniel, Tony, Amanda, and Jess. I've learned so much from them I could never thank them enough. I'll never be under the assumption that ALL my talent is due to me being good at taking a picture. There is so much to learn about the technical aspect and processing aspect of photography. No one is ever done learning about such a complex and intricate craft. I certainly feel productive atleast
Last night I went and shot the Leonids with Jordie. It was fun to say the least, and YES. Cops were there AGAIN, just like the Oronids. I got some great shots the whole night, but my last one is the BEST. and damn right, I lost a lens in the process. Well, it's still usable. Just the focus and zoom ring are stiff and it's a PITA. but whatever. It was EXTREMELY cold, we're talking 30 degrees here with the northern winds blowing in at the beach (where we were) I took some shots on my tripod, and I felt confident about it so I knew it was going to be a long shutter, so I stuck my hands in my wool peacoat (which I was STILL cold in) and right when I did I saw the slow mo of the tripod falling as the car door slam. That's how STRONG the gust was.
december I'm buying a slew of lenses, a wide angle, a prime and a portraiture one, as well as my flash

So it's not to bad. I'm bringing it to a lens repair place in SD whose already told me its a minor repair and they can fix it. I just hope it's done before my massive photoshoot in two weeks. I'm photographing five couples separately and then a couple of group shots as well and some holiday pictures. Talk about great for my portfolio. Which I've been keeping up, I got some help with it and it's turning out great. I'm designing my own website though, so once I have a good portfolio of photos then that will be up and running. I love being a know it all at web designing

Well, onto today's feature!!! Its all about the Leonids and meteors as well as some stuff done in Lightroom:

:thumb141529877:
Amazing photos, not too many of just the Leonids so I pulled from the Orionids and a star trail done during the Orionids
Onto the Lightroom 2:

So many to choose from! These ones caught my eye. I love the water drop one the best! and the groom detail in the aviators

NOW, first time ev-ar! I'm featuring a photographer whom I've had the pleasure of talking with today! Here is their version of the Leonid shower last night!

I can't resist a good fog shot, and it's a bummer that he didn't get any meteor shots BUT these are really spectacular!
I wonder if they'll be any left over meteors shooting by tonight? I could try again at some shots. If not, at least I got some good fog photos out of the night.
Cool water drop shot too. I've only tried the water stuff once. Posted my results at: [link]
make SURE you've got your tripod. I tried a couple of times without and no bueño. Though I'm investing in a good quality tripod now
The weather says tonight is "Partly Cloudy".
But, it also said last night was "Clear". Psssh! hah
So, we'll see.
I'm going to have to think of somewhere to watch the December shower. It's supposed to be better then the one the other night. The one the other night was around 20-30 meteors every hour. The one in December will be about 100 every hour!
I live right by the beach. The pier there sounds good. Might have to try that! Will just suck, being on the water, gusts of wind coming off of it, in December. Brrr! heheh
How did your shoot go?
I set my alarm for about 3am. And layed down to get some rest and be ready for shooting.
Alarm went off.
I turned over, turned it off, and feel back asleep. ack! hah
That's funny, and it happens to the best of us!!!
